Kathryn Everett McNear was born on February 22, 1934 to the union of Walter James Everett, Sr. and Effie Florence Everett in Durham, NC.

Kathryn received her formal education at Leak Street in Rockingham, NC. She
furthered her education at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC.

Kathryn accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was united with Greater Galilee Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Missionary, Culinary Committee, and Clothing Ministry.

Kathryn Everett McNear was united in holy matrimony with William Henry McNear on June 1963 in Charlotte, NC. Their union was blessed with 5 children.

She was employed by Lance Parking Company and held various positions in her 20 years of service until her retirement.

She had many talents and gifts, however, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her children the most. She was a member of the Eastern Star-Gold Hue Chapter 15.

Kathryn Everett McNear departed this life on July 7, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry McNear; Parents,
Walter James Everett, Sr. and Effie Florence Everett; Daughter, Janice Laverne McNear; Brothers, Thomas Pemberton, Walter Everett, Jr., Fred Everett, Sr., and sister, Cynthia Burton.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ingrid Mayfield (Curtis), Ronald
Everett, William McNear (Ramona), and Christopher McNear; Brothers, Archie
Everett, Sr., Alfonza Everett, Sr. (Stephanie), Wesley Everett, Sr. (Barbara), John Everett, Donnie Everett, Sr., and Dennis Everett, Sr. (Loretta); Sisters, Caroline Bradshaw and Diann White (James), 23 grandchildren and a special grandchild, Dwayne Mathis, over 30 great grandchildren, and a host of other loving family and friends.

A funeral service for Ms. McNear will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, 501 W Park Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM.

The McNear Family have entrusted arrangements to Boston's - Roseboro's Mortuary.
