Curtis Rashad Smothers, Jr.

Curtis Rashad Smothers Jr., aka Rashad, was born January 24, 1995 to Shavon Buckhalter and Curtis Lee Smothers in Chicago, IL. Rashad was given to the Lord at the age of five. Rashad attended Arna W. Bomtemps Elementary School, after completing 8th grade he then moved to Dubuque, IA with his mother and attended Dubuque Senior High School. Rashad loved playing basketball, lifting weights, his workout plan was very important to stay healthy, playing video games, and boxing. Music was everything overall. Rashad accomplished many goals in his short amazing life. He recently had enrolled in the G.E.D. program at N.I.C.C. Becoming an amazing father to his beloved daughter. Getting married to the love of his life and bestfriend, TyeJah Woods, was a major goal to Rashad as well as buying their first home. Rashad worked many jobs; his experience grew beyond expectation. Rashad was currently employed at Duluth Trading Company. Rashad gained his wings on July 2, 2020. He leaves a legacy of memories and love to be cherished by; his mother, Shavon; father, Curtis; daughter, Ceriaha; fiancé, TyeJah Woods; brothers, Donald, Savion, Tony-P, CJ, Carter, Corvel, Jimmy, and JaShawn; sisters, Shainna, Makala, Cariya, and Saperia; grandmothers, Delphine and Theresa; great-grandmother, Danella; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceding him in death grandfather, Sammie Buckhalter; uncles, Donnie and Chan; and cousin, Kolby. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3860 Asbury Road. The Funeral Service for Rashad will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Deacon John Stierman officiating.
