Mr. Samuel Major Hunter of Tampa passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
Mr. Hunter will have a Graveside service on Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery, 839 Cedar Springs Road, Jakin, Georgia 39861 with Reverend Powell, officiating.
Mr. Samuel M. Hunter was a native of Jakin, Georgia and a resident of Tampa for 60 years. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Blakely, GA and furthered his education with Gibbs Jr. College, St. Petersburg, FL and Florida A & M University. Mr. Hunter was employed as a Maintenance Operator with Tampa Electric Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory: five children, Derek Hunter, Darin Hunter and wife Wanda, Danae Aicher and husband Christian, Charles Darby and wife Jacqueline, and Devin Hunter; nine grandchildren; three brothers; one sister; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
