Shirley Sue Martens, of Baker MT, passed away at home from her battle with cancer on Sunday July 5th, 2020 with her family at her side. Shirley was born June 7th, 1948 in Baker, MT to Ernest and Rose (Hackett) Kruger. She was raised in Baker with her siblings: Jean, Jim, Nancy, Joann, and Bobby. She attended Baker High School where she met her best friend and love of her life Randy Martens. Randy and Shirley were married on November 21st, 1968 and were blessed with four wonderful children: Sonya, Heidi, Nicole, and Waylin. In the 40 years they were married they created a beautiful home, many memories, and simply just enjoyed each other’s company. Shirley loved spending time in her yard. She was passionate about decorating it with flowers, old treasures, and holiday decorations. She also enjoyed her animals, baking and cooking, antiquing, and researching and sharing about her ancestors. She passed on many of these qualities to her family, which they will cherish forever. Shirley was dedicated to her family above all else. She treasured her children and her grandchildren and embraced every moment she could with them. Our mother and grandmother was our biggest supporter, rock, and saw the best in all of us. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children Sonya (Brian) Davis, Heidi (Jasen) Wyrick, Nicole (Jacobe) Jonovich, Waylin Martens. Her grandchildren Shanay (Brock – fiancé), Chace (Alexis – fiancé), Braylea, Cauy, and Taiklyn Wyrick, Marley and Keller Martens, and Avie Jonovich. Great grandchildren Bristol and Axxel Wyrick. Her brothers James (Carolyn) Kruger, Robert (Kris) Kruger. Sister in law Monty Lou (Ben) Slagter, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Randy, her parents, sisters Phylis Jean, Nancy, Joann and Brother in law Gene Martens.
