Zvonko Barisic
Zvonko Barisic, 64, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 3, 2020 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Zvonko was born to parents Ilija and Ruza Barisic in Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 28, 1955. He is a Yugoslavian war survivor and arrived as a refugee to the United States in 1998 from Croatia. During the war he saved many people that were injured; he was a compassionate person who made lots of sacrifices in order to ensure his family had a great life. Zvonko was a man with many talents and had various jobs in his lifetime. From being a car mechanic, electrician, contractor, industrial machinery mechanic, to crane operator, truck driver and sound/light engineer. He was someone that could make and fix anything, and it was a joy watching him work. Various family and friends have homes that have been transformed by his hands. He enjoyed helping people, loved spending time with family, and traveling to Croatia and Bosnia to visit family. He was a big animal lover and was always rescuing animals. He loved celebrating life, fishing, family gatherings and going on fun trips to the mountains and festivals. Friends/family children loved him and would run to him, as he was someone with a childlike innocence and would spend hours playing with them. He had a great sense of humor and was always making his family laugh. Above all he loved his wife deeply and they fell in love at the young age of 17. Survived by his loving wife Rada of 44 years of marriage; daughters Beti and Tina; sisters Nada and Gordana; son in law Jack; and many loving family members and friends. He will be missed deeply and will be in our hearts forever. The family will celebrate his life at the funeral home Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Time to be determined.
