Myron Andrew Nichols, age 64, passed away at his home in Dayton with his wife by his side on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
Celebration of life will be held Friday January 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Community Church with Paster Keith Lamm
officiating. He was born August 27, 1952 in Salem, Oregon to Andrew and Catherine Nichols. Myron overcame great odds
even in the beginning weighing 1 pound 11 ounces. He graduated from Dayton High School in 1971 then began his lifelong
passion of farming. Myron was often seen driving farm equipment to school instead of a pickup. After his parents retired in
Arizona he spent winters harvesting cotton and delivering propane to snow birds. In 1982 family friends introduced Myron to
his future wife Sharon Hulstein of Sheldon, Iowa. Theymarried on March 19, 1983 and later had three children. He was a
board member of the Marionberry Association and attended Unionville and Hopewell Community Church. His love for farming was seen in every crop he tended although Marionberries were his favorite. He could talk anyone into getting a fresh crate of
berries during harvest. Myron was proud of what he grew but loved his berries because he could see people enjoying them.
Myron greatly cherished his time with his family, especially trips to the Oregon Coast and coffee with the guys.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon; three children and their spouses, Stacy and Tim Klein of McMinnville; Kristi
and Eric Amerson of McMinnville; Jeffrey and Shelly Nichols of Amity; two adorable grandchildren Jacob Klein and Zoey
Amerson; and relatives and friends. He was proceeded in death by his parents Andrew and Catherine Nichols, sister Susan at
infancy and in laws Fred and Grace Hulstein.
