Funeral services for William A. "Bill" Bach will be held Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Macy and Son with Pastor Jim Peterson officiating. Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, McMinnville. Bill died March 25, 2009 at Sarah House in McMinnville. He was 83. Son of William A. and Edith Gannon Bach, Bill was born October 26, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ. He was raised and schooled in New Jersey. He graduated from Park Ridge High School, Park Ridge, NJ in 1943. He lived in New Jersey until 1943. He served in the Army during WWII serving in Europe from 1943-1945 and in the Pacific Theater from 1945 until the war ended. He moved to Oregon in 1946. In 1947 he operated Cookies Coffee Shop and was a cook at the Palm Caf. He married June Peters in Bend in 1950; they divorced in 1960. He married Evelyn Marie Kielhorn on February 28, 1969 in McMinnville. He worked in sales for Pepsi Cola in McMinnville from 1950 to 1954 and for Whitney Distributing Company McMinnville from 1954 to 1959. He also worked for Sunshine Dairy from 1959 to 1980 and for Anderson Dairy in Battleground, WA from 1980 to 1988. He was self-employed from 1988 to 1993 in consulting dairy sales. After retirement he worked for many years in the Pro Shop at the Bayou. He was a member of BPOE 1283 and Past Exalted Ruler from 1969 to 1970; member of the Sheridan-Dayton Lodge #64 and McMinnville Lodge #3 AFAM and Master from 1978-1999; American Legion Post #21; V.F.W. in Dayton and American Vets in McMinnville. For many years he served as head cook for the Turkey Rama. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an outdoors person. He also enjoyed golf. Surviving are his wife Evelyn of McMinnville; sons, Michael W. Bach, Bend, OR; and Christopher Bach, Ephrata, WA; stepson William Kielhorn, Portland, OR; and stepdaughter, Susan Kielhorn Wilson, Keno, OR; a sister, Margaret Lindner, Moorsetown, NJ; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Genevieve Hillman and Edith Schumacher. Memorial contributions may be given to Masonic and Eastern Star Home c/o Macy and Son.
