Dixie Lou Ratliff Hyden, age 96, of Martin, KY, widow of  Dr. Joe Taylor Hyden, died Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. She was born February 14, 1924 in Hite, KY a daughter of the late Vernon and Sadie Osborne Ratliff.

 

  Dixie was a graduate of Martin High School in the class of 1942. She later attended Prestonsburg Community College and received her RN degree, realizing a life long dream and worked with her son, Dr. Alan J. Hyden for 40 years.

 

   Dixie is survived by her daughters, Debra (John) Burke, Prestonsburg, KY, Terri (Steve) Allen, Lexington, KY, sons; Dr. Robert (Lois) Marshall, Allen, KY and Joe T. (Laura) Hyden II, Martin, KY, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who loved "Nana, and Granny Dixie".

 

 

   In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Alan J. Hyden, and two sisters.

 

 

  A private family graveside service is scheduled for Dixie Lou Ratliff Hyden.
