John Albert Pollock, Sr. Goldsboro, North Carolina Obituary

John Albert Pollock, Sr.

John Albert Pollock, Sr., 71, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care. John was born in Wayne County on June 4, 1949 to the late Johnnie Franklin Pollock and Cynthia Daughtry Pollock. He had worked for many years as a railroad engineer with CSX Transportation. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. John was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church. John enjoyed flying and was an avid lover of airplanes. For many years, John could be found as a fixture at the Wayne County Airport. He also got great pleasure in playing and listening to good music. Those of us who knew John weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances, and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Willow Dale Cemetery with military honors. Pastor Walter Sloan will officiate. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. John is survived by his son, John A. Pollock, Jr. and wife Amber of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, Brianna Mays, Hannah Mays and Matt Mays; and a good friend, Jimmy Westbrook. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in John’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
