Departed this life December 18, 2016. Mrs. Vera Whitehead of Richmond. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Whitehead, one daughter, Marsha Johnson and son, Chauncey Whitehead. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Smith(Arthur) and Roxie White(Eric); six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister; four brothers; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held friday 1PM at Lighthouse Christian Center, 406 E. Nine Mile Road where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Rev. Scott Carpenter(pastor) off. Interment Maury Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45PM friday.
