Mary L. Oldham, 98, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at her home. She was born on June 6, 1922, the daughter of Amie and Ida (Lordan) Schultz. She married Robert W. Oldham on August 28, 1946 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother. After marriage, Mary focused her energy on homemaking. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. Mary was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and was known as a loving, generous, devout woman. She enjoyed sewing, making rosaries and baking. Her sweets were notorious. Mary is survived by her daughters, June Eagan of Springfield and Sue (Lee) Park of Buffalo; sons, Steve (Shawn) Oldham of Wright City, MO and Scott (Judy) Oldham of Joliet; 13 grandchildren, John (Michelle) Eagan, Jill (Nick) Williams, Jenny (Tim) Whitehead, Elizabeth (Josh) Watson, John (Amanda) Eagan, Joe (Phil Palazzolo) Park, Nicholas (Makenzie) Oldham, Lindsay (Ethan) Weibye, Mike Oldham, Mary (Chad) Scott, Ann Oldham, Joe Oldham and John Oldham; 19 great-grandchildren, Avery, Dylan, Ella and Gavin Whitehead, Harper and Emma Williams, Paul, Charlie and Eloise Watson, Jack, Isaac and Julian Park, Beckett and Piper Weibye, Schaefer and Aleeza Oldham, and Addison, Brady and Jordan Scott; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation services were provided by Butler Funeral Homes and Cremation Tribute Center – Springfield, prior to ceremonies.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, with Rev. Michael Berndt, celebrant. (Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings and limiting attendance to 175 guests at one time.) You are welcome to attend the mass honoring the life of Mary Oldham, however per Mary’s request, the graveside ceremonies are for her immediately family only .
