Jim G. Dotson, 88, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 12:48 AM July 3, 2020 at Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly, MO. There will be no visitation or service, but a Celebration of Life at a later date. Private burial will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem, MO. The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Jim was born on June 13, 1932 in Scott City, MO to William Eldridge Dotson and Zola B. Montgomery Dotson. He was married to Dorothy Jean James on March 11, 1950 in Pocahontas, AR. She preceded him in death on August 25, 1975. Jim is survived by 6 children: Jean Reeves (Frankie) of Hannibal, MO; Jim Dotson (Cora) and Tim Dotson (Rhonda) all of Salem, MO; Mark Dotson (Dena) of Farmington, MO; Ruth Camden (Ronnie) of Center, MO; and Matt Dotson (Melanie) of Farmington, MO. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Andy (Brooke), Barb, Daniel (Lesley), Robert, Nickie (Maynard), Austin, Stephanie (Chris), Shane (Kayla), Rachelle (BJ), Tarah (Josh), Rachel (Isaac), Jordan, Travis (Krysta), Zach, Levi (Paige), Amanda, Jay, Haley, Logan (Skyler), Harlee, and Carter; several great grandchildren including Emerson, Hemsley, Christopher, Nova, and soon to arrive Lawson; as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents William and Zola; and siblings Clarice, Jerry, and Linda. During his life’s journey Jim was a Pastor at House of Prayer in Frankford, MO, a self-employed welder, auxiliary police officer, and a security guard. Some of Jim's favorite pastimes were reading the Bible, fishing, hunting, attending auctions, antiquing, collecting, and spending time with family and friends.
