Robert Frederick Keppler

Robert Frederick Keppler, age 75, of Berea, passed away July 2, 2020 at Baptist Health in Louisville. Robert was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late John F. and Juanita Jane Gaudin Keppler. He was a 1962 graduate of Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis and a 1968 graduate of Indiana University. Robert had a career in finance, most recently for Wako Electronics in Louisville as V.P. of Finance. He had also owned and operated Central Processors Scrap Metal in Berea, previously employed by Mt. Vernon Plastics in Mt. Vernon, KY, Wear Ever Aluminum in Chillicothe, Ohio, and Rea Magnet Wire in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother Thomas Keppler. He married the love of his life on October 22, 1983, Rebecca Walker Keppler, she survives him as well as, one son, Shane Lurty; two granddaughters, Sierra and Savannah Lurty; one brother, Dr. Edward (Marla) Keppler from South Carolina; one sister, Nancy (Gregg) Wolfe of Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Jill Keppler and Angeline Spires; and a special friend, Nick Scott. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In accordance with his wishes, Robert was cremated and a celebration of life for him will be held at a later date. We were so sorry to here of Bob's passing. We worked with him at Mt Vernon Plastics. We went to lunch together every day. He was a good friend.

Sorry for your loss. Bob was a good man and I had a good time working with him at Wako. I will remember the times kidding each other about IU and UK. He always spoke of the love he had for you and his family.
