James Stewart Christopher 64, Dartmouth, It is with great sadness the family of Jim Christopher regret to announce the passing of their beloved brother, uncle and friend. Jim was the youngest son of the late Kenneth and Lillian Christopher-Malcolm (nee Lambert); step son of the late Walter Malcolm. He is survived by his brothers, Douglas, Halifax; Peter (Barb), Musquodoboit Harbour; sisters, Jean (Harden) Weisner, Chester; Patricia (Les) Rennie, Simms Settlement; Kathy (Doug) Smith, Mount Uniacke; sister-in-law, Gladys Christopher, Halifax; Survived also by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews to which he was very fond. Predeceased by his brothers Edward, Kenneth and William. Nieces Karen and Leanne, nephew Chris. Special mention of one nephew, Derrick Rennie who he was especially close to and was a friend to him as well as an uncle. Derrick always checked in on him to make sure he was ok and gave him hell when he needed to. Jim will be remembered best by those who knew him as a very kind and caring person. Always the first one to offer a helping hand no matter how big or small the job. Always there to help someone less fortunate than him. Jim also spent the better part of his life fighting alcohol addiction. He was finally able to come to terms with in 2018 whe he became a member Deep Water Church in Halifax and turned his life over to God and was baptised. His words “Satan has had me long enough.” He had made many good friends at the church who were always just a phone call away when he needed them, they became his Christian brothers and sisters. Special thanks to the Dr.’s and nurses at the Dartmouth General, ICU Dept. who were so kind and caring in their care of Jim. You are truly Angels on this earth. Cremation will take place and a family graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, July 11th in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Pastor Shaun MacKenzie officiating. At a later date there will be a celebration of life to be held at the Deep Water Church in Halifax. Everyone will be welcome to attend. if you wish to make a charitable donation in memory of Jim do so to any organization that benefits the less fortunate of our city.
