It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Denise Marie Thérèse Saquet announces her untimely passing on Saturday June 27, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
Denise was born on May 30, 1932, and raised on her family farm 3 miles North-East of Laurier Manitoba. She attended elementary school at École Pennarun and then high school at Laurier School. Following her education, Denise worked as a secretary for the Department of Agriculture in Ste. Rose du Lac for two years.

On November 20, 1954, Denise married the love of her life Noel Saquet. Together they farmed for many years which included grain, cattle, and chickens. On November 11, 1957 their family grew as they welcomed their first child Donald, followed by Diane in 1960, and Viviane in 1961. Once her children were older, Denise worked as an educational assistant and librarian at École Laurier School for 15 years. She enjoyed working with staff and students and always had fond memories of them.

Denise enjoyed spending time with friends, which included visiting, playing cards, travelling, curling, craft sales, dancing, going out for coffee and meals just to mention a few. Denise took pride in her garden and she was always willing to share her bountiful crop. During winter months she would spend her time sewing, baking, making crafts, and most of all knitting.  Knitting was definitely her favorite hobby and everyone looked forward to the homemade sweaters, blankets, toques, scarves, endless pairs of mitts and socks that were all made with love.

Denise’s greatest pride, joy, and love were her children, grandchildren, and great grand-children. She cherished and loved every moment spent with them and always looked forward to having everyone together. 

Denise was predeceased by her great grand-daughter Kaitlyn Stewart, her mother Jeanne (Dupré), father Philippe Gamache, brothers Gérald, Gérard, Fernand, Luc Gamache, her sister Marie Gamache, as well as sister in-law Cécile Gamache, brothers in-law Marcel Saquet and Alex Fouillen. 
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories; her loving husband of 65 years Noel, her children Donald (Joanne) Saquet, Diane (Dave) Wolchuk, and Viviane (Gord) Thompson. Her 11 grandchildren Ashley (Jesse) Lussier, Travis (Tasha) Saquet, Kylie (Mark) Frattinger, Cara Lee (Matt) Stewart, Candace Hooper, Jared (Devon) Wolchuk, Jevin (Kayla) Wolchuk, Ryan (Jessica) Thompson, Jason (Anna) Thompson, Colin (Madison) Thompson, Kevin (Amy) Thompson, her 15 great grandchildren Iyla and Rylan Lussier, Anzhe Saquet, Jake Frattinger, Kailee, Logan, and Karissa Stewart, Jailyn and Caden Hooper, Maxx Wolchuk, Irelan, Finn, and Audin Thompson, Kaceton and Rheatta Thompson. She leaves many memories to be cherished by her brothers, sisters, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Funeral Mass for Denise was held on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm from Notre Dame des Victoires Roman Catholic Church in Laurier.  Fr. Patrick Neufeld celebrated the mass.  Interment will take place at a future date.
