Darrell Stafford

Darrell Stafford, 86, of Hanover, West Virginia was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from his home.  He was born June 6, 1934 at Rose Branch, Hanover, WV, and was the son of the late Naomi Lester Vance and Don Stafford.  Darrell was married to the late Calos Stafford for 53 years, and was a loving husband, father, grand-father, and great grand-father. 

Darrell was a welder, a member of the AFLCIO, lifelong trophy fisherman, avid animal lover, and enjoyed worshiping his Savior at the Wharncliffe Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Naomi and Don Stafford, and his loving wife Calos Stafford, his son Darrell Michael Stafford, grandson Bryson Riffe; three sisters, Belva Hawkins, Dena Hurley, and India Lee; and a loving sister-in-law Ida Cline.   

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Darrell are: his four daughters: Cathy (Jeff) Gravely of Sebastian, FL; Judy (David) Bragg of La Grange, KY; Crystal (Rick) Maynard of Hanover, WV; and Savannah (Michelle) Stafford of Elkhorn, WV.  6 Grandchildren: Joseph Riffe of Lawrenceburg, KY; Bryan Riffe of Coal Mountain, WV; Betsy Bailey of Martinsville, VA; Joshua and Jeremy Jackson both of La Grange, KY; and Jessie Walker of Tennessee.  8 Great grandchildren.  A special niece, Jonie Goodman of Hanover and Jewell Lively of Hanover, both of whom Darrell loved like daughters.  Brother-in-Law, Clifford Cline of Wharncliffe.    

Friends and family are invited to join the Stafford family on Friday, July 3, 2020 from 12 to 2 PM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV where funeral services will commence at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Rick Endicott and James Runyon officiating.  Burial will follow at the Walker Family Cemetery at Hanover, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
