George P. Overly, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Plainfield, IN. George was born on June 5, 1933 in Columbus, OH to the late Woody and Hulda (Green) Overly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Overly; son, David Overly and siblings; Mary, Charles, Juanita, David, Helen, Virginia, Bertha, Harold and Wilber.

George is survived by his son, Mark (Stephanie Gossett) Overly and daughters, Tina Tanski and Melody (Chris) Wyatt; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennfier McGough) Tanski, Amber (David Beckham) Tanski, Katherine Wyatt and Nicholas Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Bryden Beckham, Meila Beckham, John Henry Beckham, Korinna Lillian Tanski and Harlow Beckham.

George was a member of the Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association-Local 132 for 60+ years. He served his country in the US Army and was a proud Veteran. George was a former member and Commander of the Reynoldsburg VFW Post 9473. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 490 in Whitehall, OH.

His family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St. Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 where his funeral service will be held at 1:00PM with Pastor Bill Lavely officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
