Oe-Sun "Mikka" Schmidhamer, 74, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Posong-Kun, Chonnam-Do, Korea, daughter of Song-Yul and Pok-Sun (Pak) Yun.
Surviving are her companion, Harry Chappell; her caregivers: Stephen Port, Angel Koch, Autumn Koch, Gabrielle Helsel, Leahann Myers and Rachel Decker; and many other close friends and caregivers.
Mikka received a culinary arts degree from Altoona Area Vo-Tech School. She retired as a cook from Jethro's Restaurant and had previously worked for Country Garden Market. She attended the State College and Ebensburg Korean churches.
Mikka enjoyed dancing, spending time with friends, bingo and gambling.
Friends will be received from 4:30 until the 6 p.m. funeral service Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Axe and Santella Family Chapel, 1534 Fourth St., Altoona, the Rev. Jonathan G. Kim officiating. A private interment will be held at Leamersville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
