Bobbi P. Lednum Obituary

Roberta “Bobbi” Prettyman Lednum, age 79 of Fenwick Island, DE passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Bobbi was born in Easton, MD on April 15, 1937 daughter of the late Robert Davidson Prettyman and Elmyra (Porter) Prettyman. Bobbi and her husband, Wayne were partners in Creative Concepts Home Furnishings and Design originally opening in 1973 in the York Beach Mall in South Bethany then to the Creekside Plaza in Millville, DE before building in Clarksville, DE in 2005. They also expanded their business to a second location in Lewes in the early 1980’s. Bobbi was the true matriarch of the family and provided a loving and caring environment not only to her immediate family but to everyone. She did not care about a person’s social status, color, political affiliation, education, financial status or appearance; if you needed a helping hand, she would be there, without question, to help. She truly was her own “organization”, spending countless hours on the phone just checking on others. Her life revolved around her family, which was so evident in the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She seemed to never slow down and had a tough as nails exterior with a heart of gold. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of over 61 years, Edward Wayne Lednum; three sons, WR Craig Lednum of Selbyville, DE, Steve M. Lednum and his wife Gail of Selbyville, DE and Scott W. Lednum and his companion Dawn Dorman of Fenwick Island, DE and a sister, Irene Stinson of Preston, MD. Bobbi is also survived by five grandchildren, Dalton Hughes of Towson, MD, Scott Chandler of Selbyville, DE, Justin Lednum of Selbyville, DE, Cortney Thompson and her husband Fred of Frankford, DE and Cory Lednum of Selbyville, DE and five great grandchildren, Kahnen Hughes, Jillian Chandler, Chloe Chandler, Kayden Thompson and McKinley Thompson. A visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Ocean View Church of Christ, 55 West Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, where the service to celebrate Bobbi’s life will begin at 2 PM, followed by fellowship and food in the church hall. Bobbi will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton, MD.
