Ada Roberts Obituary

Ada F. (Teal) Roberts of Great Barrington, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8th, 2020. Ada was the loving wife of Rex W. Roberts for 59 years. She was an amazing mother to James (LJ), Walter, Susanne Wallace (Terry) and Douglas (Chanda). She was the proud grandmother of Joan, Douglas (Lindsey), Casey (Cheyenne), Katy, Jason, George & Emily and she felt so blessed to be the great-grand mother of Marley Mae and Lola and excitedly awaiting the arrival of her third great-grandchild in August!

Ada is survived by her sister Beverly Makranin and brother James Teal, sisters-in-law, Marie, Dawn, Elaine, brother-in-law William Cooper and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ada is predeceased by her parents Emerson R. and Effie (Baggs) Teal, her sisters Eileen Hamm, Nancy Trickett, Susanne Cooper, and her brothers Walter, Emerson and Douglas Teal.

Ada was a homemaker, first and foremost. Her creativity and sociability shined through in any position she held. As a waitress at Johnny’s on Plum Island, a manager at Putnam Pantry in charge of the candy displays, or as manager of the cosmetic department at Osco Drug, she was dedicated, loving and proud of her work and always willing to offer guidance and advise. She loved to hostess cookouts on Plum Island and in the backyard around the pool in Danvers and spend time with family and friends enjoying the summer weather at camp in Ossipee NH.

Ada was often the life of the party at her extended family gatherings and always lifted the spirits of those around her. She was a welcoming beacon with a genuine smile and warm embrace. She was loved by so many and always willing to welcome anyone in, whether it be family or friend. She’ll be smiling down on all of us while holding hands with her “Lovies” once again!

The family will be honoring Ada with a private family gathering later this year.

As anyone who knew Ada, knew she loved to help others and always enjoyed preparing a good meal for those she loved. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ada’s honor to:
