Dustin Michael Price Poulsbo, Washington Obituary

Dustin Michael Price

Dustin Price, age 38, went quietly in his sleep to be with the Lord June 19, 2020. While he went peacefully, it was far too soon & he will be deeply missed by all. He was a loving Son, Brother & Uncle, a committed Husband & amazing Father, a sincere friend to so many and an unwavering 12th Man! His dedication to his family, his passion for life & his ability to overcome any obstacle are the qualities that will be missed & cherished most. He was born on January 26, 1982 in Kalispell, MT to John & Kathy Price. He grew up in Kalispell & graduated from Flathead High School in 2000. He moved to the Seattle area shortly after graduation to begin the next chapter in his journey through life. It was there that he landed a job at Central Market & met Marea Ganacias...a co-worker at first, and later she would become his best friend & beautiful, loving wife. In late summer 2002 he fell over 30 feet & sustained a spinal cord injury and multiple fractures. He survived the fall, but life as he knew it would never be the same. He was told he would never walk again or have a child of his own. Challenges accepted. With the grace of God & a lot of determination and help from his family & friends, he was going to beat those odds. Upon his return to the Seattle area, Marea also embraced the opportunity to help Dustin beat the odds...and that is exactly what he did. In 2009 he walked down the aisle on his own two feet with Marea Ganacias Price & in February 2012 they welcomed to the world their beautiful daughter, Payton Murphy Price. Challenges overcome. In 2018, after years of living in Seattle and having to travel to enjoy nature, the three of them moved across the water to their little slice of heaven in Hansville, WA on the Olympic Peninsula. They loved the peaceful nights & beautiful sunsets and enjoyed both to their fullest the week of his passing. Dustin is survived by, and will be missed each & every day by, his wife Marea Price, daughter Payton Price, father John D. Price II, mother Kathy Price, brother Cody (Melissa) Price, sister DeAne Price, half-sister Corrie (Randy) Miller, grandmother Jean Price, father-in-law Freddo Ganacias, mother-in-law Chris (Vaughn) Pettersen, brother-in-law Patrick (Kristi) Ganacias, sister-in-law Felicia (Jason) Lane, sister-in-law Meghan Nelson & many other loving family members & friends. Dustin’s 8-year old daughter Payton wanted to share the following message in remembrance of her dad. “You are the best daddy ever & you are my best friend. You have the sweetest heart and you will always be in my heart. xoxo Payton” He would never have chosen to leave us as he loved us all beyond measure, but the choice was not his. We have such an amazing & merciful God who gently took Dustin home. As painful as this is for all he has left behind, his life on Earth is over and his new journey has begun. We are comforted in knowing that he is with God for eternity and we will all be together again. You will always be with us & you will never be forgotten Dustin Michael Price…looking forward to our next sunset together! “Giddy-Up, Go Hawks…Peace Out.” Private memorials were held with immediate family members in the days following his passing. We would like family & friends to celebrate Dustin’s life with us when conditions permit and will communicate those plans when they become available. For those looking for ways to help Marea & Payton, a memorial fund has been established. Any donations are welcomed & appreciated and can be made at www.gofundme.com/f/vtzy5-dustin-price

I am writing about the wonderful first grader that I had at Peterson School in Kalispell. He and his whole family were totally loving and giving. He had the most wonderful sparkling eyes and nice personality. He was a special to his class and teacher. A shining star!
