Carlos C. Strickland

Carlos C. Strickland, 77, of the 5600 block of Ranger Court, passed away March 22, 2004, at Norfolk General Hospital. A native of Nash County, NC, he was the son of the late Paul and Mollie Strickland. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1979 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the VAW #919 and retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant 1st Class serving in Germany after WWII. He appeared in the Movie “Berlin Express”. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nora Raines Strickland; two sons, Carlos Clifton Strickland, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA and Marvin Lee Strickland of Virginia Beach, VA; and a grandson, Raymond Wade Strickland of Virginia Beach, VA. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth S. Cotton; and two brothers, Paul Strickland and Randolf Strickland. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with Ben Peyton officiating. The burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday 7 to 9 p.m.
