Doris Irene Armstrong

Doris Irene Armstrong, 85, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on December 11, 2015. Born in New York, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Armstrong; and brother, Chester Cheslik. She was a retired Secretary at Old Dominion University. She was well loved by her children, who are grateful for everything she did for them. Doris lived for and loved her grandkids, entertaining at the pool for many years. She also loved golfing with her friends. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis R. Armstrong (Anastasia); son, Patrick F. Armstrong; daughter, Teri A. Tefft (Marc); son, Gary J. Armstrong; grandchildren, Taylor, Hailey, and Alexandra Armstrong, Kimberly Griffiths (Clark), Lindsey Farrell (Mike), Jamie Armstrong, Brittany and Kristy Tefft, Jenna Armstrong, Cheryl Weerts and Matt Tefft; great grandchildren, Gavin Griffiths, Jake, Ryan and Alex; and sisters, Teri (Ronnie) and Regina. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or Virginia Beach S.P.C.A. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
