Please click here to view the livestream of the service on Speers TV Myrna, late of Regina, SK, passed away at the Regina General Hospital on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 66 years. She is survived by her sister Gloria (Doug) Archer: brothers, Howard and Harold; many nieces and nephews; as well as her many great-nieces and nephews whom she especially adored. Myrna was predeceased by her parents James and Lillian (nee Bjornson) Knight and brother David George Knight. In 1972 she graduated from Martin Collegiate in Regina. After working for a while she attended University. Myrna was the highest educated of her siblings having attained a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Regina. Learning and education was always one of her personal strengths. After ending her career as an Intergovernmental Affairs Officer with the Provincial Government early due to health issues, her time in retirement was spent spoiling her nieces and nephews and their children. She never missed their birthdays and special days and celebrated their accomplishments. Myrna became the family archivist taking many pictures at family gatherings and preserving them in books she gifted to them. She was an avid reader including fiction as well as political issues. Myrna enjoyed the book club she founded and the company of the members. She was a supporter of the Brighter Futures for Children fund raiser and always donated a thoughtful silent auction item. All her life she was a political activist supporting human rights and women’s rights in particular. In her passing she bequeathed a large donation to the Royal University Hospital Foundation in support of the Epilepsy Program. In lieu of flowers, she asked for people to donate to this cause.
