Catherine I. Schloemer

Catherine I. Schloemer, 88, passed away on January 22, 2017. A native of Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late James and Cecelia Connelly. She grew up in Liverpool through WWII and immigrated to America in 1946. She retired after 25 years as a teacher with Norfolk Public Schools. She received her BA in Education and Geography from Western Washington State College. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Del Schloemer and two brothers, Hugh and James Connelly. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Valerie (James) Robinson of Virginia Beach, VA and Pamela Concannon of Norfolk, VA; a son, Douglas (Kelli) Schloemer of Stephenson Ranch, CA; a sister, Mabel Fletcher of Liverpool, England; and a brother, Robert Connelly of Norfolk, VA. She is also survived by six grandsons, Christopher (Stacy), Keith (Kim), and Eric (Shantell) Robinson, Brian Concannon, and Alex and Connor Schloemer; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob Taeghen, Colton, Allison, Brent, and Adam Robinson.
