Derrick D. “Big Red” Philon, 46, of Sandusky, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk. He was born on July 29, 1973 in Sandusky, OH to Thelma Jean Philon-Davis and Lewis Page. He graduated from Perkins High School, attended EHOVE, and attained a Nurse’s Aid Certificate. Derrick liked to cook, but his real passion was being a DJ. He was a popular DJ in Sandusky and the surroundings areas. He loved to spend time with his daughter, Asia, and his nieces and nephews. Red loved to tell jokes. Derrick is survived by his father, Lewis, and step-mother, Dorothy Page; sisters, Keisha (Fritz) Taylor, Robin Carlisle, Tira Smith, Nakia Williams, Tre’lanna (Anthony) McCarty, Uncles, Kenneth (Robin) Philon, and Ricky and Charles (Dawn) Philon, Moses Page, John Page all of Sandusky, OH, Douglas (Johnnie) Page, Columbus, OH; Aunts, Barbara A. Caffey, Carolyn Sandridge, Florence Collins, all of Sandusky, OH. and Gloria Graves, Toledo, OH. Special friends: Billy Nedham, Ray Grant, and Delbert Pickens, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma; grandparents, Gentle and Thelma Philon, and Moses and Braddis Page; and uncles, Robert Page and Gentle R. Philon.
