Pearl Oberle age 101 years of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan died on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre with family at her side. She was born on the homestead north and west of Climax on August 28, 1918. She was the youngest of three daughters losing her mother at the birth of her brother. At six years old, along with her two older sisters, they helped their Dad on the farm as well as raising their young brother. After finishing school she remained on the homestead to help work the land and tend the stock with her Dad and Grandfather until the age of 21 when she left to work for a short time at Gilchrist Ranch near Wildhorse, Alberta. Following that she moved to Shaunavon to work at the Rex Café where she met the love of her life, Bill. They were married on September 4, 1941 and worked a mixed farm with his Dad until they moved to their own yard where they raised their two boys. This became the main farm, expanding it to a large grain and cattle operation over many years. She stayed on the farm most of her life, moving into Avondale place in Shaunavon in 2010, followed by the move to the Care Centre in 2012. She was a member of the CWL in Shaunavon and attended church on a regular basis. She loved to cook and bake, taking many meals to the field and always had food ready when people came to visit.
