Steven W. Fant Obituary

Steven Wallace Fant, aka "Cadillac Steve" oldest dear son, loving big brother, commanding "Uncle", special nephew, caring cousin, cool friend and acquaintance to so many people, parted this life at the age of 62 on Saturday, June 20, 2020 shortly after shopping with his daughter. Stevie was born August 12, 1957, to the late Rosa M. Fant. He was the beloved grandson of the late Rev. Wallace and Rosa Laura Fant and brother to the late Rodney Fant.

Stevie was baptized as a child and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior as an older adult. He was well known in the city of Cincinnati and Spartanburg, South Carolina where most of his roots are. He was truly a people person, most places he went he saw someone he knew.

After graduating from Aiken High School, Stevie worked at UPS as a driver for a short time, then at the Board of Education as a school hall monitor for a few years, and finally as a nurse aid for several years before he retired.

Also known as "Cadillac Steve", "Tall 12", and "Suit and Hat Man" because he only purchased big shiny cars and wore high fashion clothes, suits and topped it off with the baddest brim you ever seen! Stevie acquired a number of A.K.A.'s over the years and more so he created a new name for everyone he knew especially his nieces, nephews, and granddaughters whom he adored and enjoyed having in his company. He was also a ladies' man and took pride in having a woman on his side.

Although distant as a father, Stevie often thought and talked about his six children: Steven D Clark, Jajuan M. Anderson, Shanda Reed, Chavonne Saunders, Candace Slaughter and Mario Gibson with 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Stevie leaves a host of loved ones to cherish memories of him especially his sisters, Melissa, Teressa and Barbra Fant; aunt, Elease Artison; honorary family, Carolyn Hummonds, Ayishah Munir and Hobert Bishop, whom he supported and stood by no matter the situation.

Stevie is free from suffering and pain. To God be the Glory.
