Alphonso Keels Obituary

Mr. Alphonso Keels, son ofthe Late Samuel Keels Sr. and Surviving Mrs. Alice McClean Keels, was born on December 29, 1949 in Baltimore, North Carolina. After a recent illness, he was called from labor to reward on Saturday June 6, 2020.

Alphonso loved listening to music and playing cards, checkers and chess. He could always be found watching his favorite TV shows Star Trek and Mash.

Alphonso lived in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Patapsco Elementary School, Cherry Hill Junior High School and graduated as the class valedictorian from Baltimore City College in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1971. He served as a reservist until 1976. He worked many jobs and his last and favorite being the Coca Cola Company.

Alphonso did not have any children ofhis own. He was loved by all of his nieces, nephews and all the neighborhood kids. Alphonso met his best friend and girlfriend Karen Terry in 2002 and they remained in love until his home-going.

Alphonso was a very intelligent man. He would always challenge all the young people in his life with mathematics problem. of strength and character. He was employed as a HVAC Technician at Toe Time Group until his illness. Before his employment at The Time Group, he was employed at Foxwell Memorial Garden for sixteen years. He was a great provider for his family.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his girlfriend of eighteen years, Karen; his siblings, Theresa Gwynn, Charles Keels, Michele Keels-York and Penelope Keels-Chewning; his sister Sarrie Keels, brothers Samuel Keels Jr. and Anthony Keels preceded him in death; four nieces- Sharon, Tia, Darcell and Erica; nine nephews- Andre, Gary, Authur, Darod, Mark, Tavon, Michael, Blair and Marcus; his stepchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
