Deacon Beechie "ThinMan" Veney, Jr.

<p>Beechie (ThinMan) Veney, Jr., son of the late Beechie and Dorothy Veney, was born on December 30, 1947 in Richmond County, VA.&nbsp; He graduated from Richmond County High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and severed in the Vietnam War.&nbsp; He received an Honorable discharge in 1970. He joined Lyells Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.&nbsp; He served as the Chairman of the Lyells Chapel Deacon Board until God called him home.<br /> <br /> Beechie was united in holy matrimony to Cynthia Corbin on February 14, 1970.&nbsp; The two moved to Washington, DC and started their family.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two children.&nbsp; He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, drove the DC Transit Bus while residing in Washington, DC.&nbsp; Later they decided to move back home to Haynesville, VA.<br /> <br /> Beechie moved back to Virginia and joined the Richmond County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff.&nbsp; After retiring from the Sheriff&rsquo;s Department, he decided to start his own trucking business (B.Veney, Jr., Inc.)<br /> &nbsp;<br /> He was a loving, caring and giving father, grandfather, great-grand father and a friend to anyone who crossed his pathway.&nbsp; He would help any and everyone who was in need and no one knew about it but him and the person he helped.&nbsp; Beechie loved his family, especially his grandkids and his great-grands.<br /> &nbsp;<br /> He is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; sisters, Frances Wells and Erma Gaines both of Maryland; daughter, Katrina and son, Beecher (Robin); three grandchildren, Stephanie, Carol (Daniel) and Devin; two great-grandchildren, Joshua and Christina; four sisters-in-law, Barbara Lee of Philadelphia, Myrtle Payne of Montross, Wanda (Howard) Wise of Montross, and Teresa Gumbs of Washington; one brother-in-law Wayne Corbin of Tappahannock; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends</p> <p>Graveside service&nbsp;for Deacon&nbsp;Beechie Veney, Jr.,&nbsp;Chairman of the&nbsp;Deacon Board at Lyells Chapel Baptist Church will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11AM at the Lyells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery 2028 Rich Neck Road, Warsaw, Virginia.</p> <p>Remains may be viewed on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 4PM until 7PM at the funeral home. <strong>(PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK)</strong></p>

Obituary

Beechie (ThinMan) Veney, Jr., son of the late Beechie and Dorothy Veney, was born on December 30, 1947 in Richmond County, VA.  He graduated from Richmond County High School in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and severed in the Vietnam War.  He received an Honorable discharge in 1970. He joined Lyells Chapel Baptist Church at an early age.  He served as the Chairman of the Lyells Chapel Deacon Board until God called him home.

Beechie was united in holy matrimony to Cynthia Corbin on February 14, 1970.  The two moved to Washington, DC and started their family.  This union was blessed with two children.  He worked for the U.S. Postal Service, drove the DC Transit Bus while residing in Washington, DC.  Later they decided to move back home to Haynesville, VA.

Beechie moved back to Virginia and joined the Richmond County Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff.  After retiring from the Sheriff’s Department, he decided to start his own trucking business (B.Veney, Jr., Inc.)
 
He was a loving, caring and giving father, grandfather, great-grand father and a friend to anyone who crossed his pathway.  He would help any and everyone who was in need and no one knew about it but him and the person he helped.  Beechie loved his family, especially his grandkids and his great-grands.

Graveside service for Deacon Beechie Veney, Jr., Chairman of the Deacon Board at Lyells Chapel Baptist Church will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 11AM at the Lyells Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery 2028 Rich Neck Road, Warsaw, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 4PM until 7PM at the funeral home. (PLEASE WEAR YOUR MASK)
