Doris Nelson Shaver, 87, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Myrtice Nelson; two daughters: Kay Shaver Hopkins, Karen Jeanette Shaver and brother, Eddie Ray Nelson. Doris leaves behind her husband, Hubert Paul Shaver of the home; two sons: Steve Shaver and wife Gayle of Council, Sammy Shaver and wife Christine of Clarkton; brother, Thomas Wayne Nelson and wife Lorraine of Fayetteville; sister, Mary Ellen Stanton of Florida; seven grandchildren: David Wayne Hopkins (Kim), Jeremy Paul Shaver (Chasity), Ashley Hopkins, Courtney Guyton, April Smith (Charlie), Lindsie Nicole Shaver, Wendy Gale Shaver; and ten great-grandchildren.

Doris was married to the love of her life, Hubert Paul Shaver for 70 years. She adored her family. Some of her hobbies included: gardening, crossword puzzles, stock market, watching Days of Our Lives, eating at McDonald’s and visiting the ponds on their property.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 17th at 2pm in the Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown with Rev. Chris Carlyle officiating service.
