William “Terry” Schreiner, late of Prince Albert, passed away on June 13, 2020 at the age of 73 years.  Terry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Debbie; and their children, Sean Schreiner and children Brad and Keely-Shae, Todd (Kim) Schreiner and children, Keegan (Kelsey) , Haylie Schreiner and her son, Oaklen, Dawn Mardell (Jason Dinney) and children, Abbigail and Bennett Dinney, Ashley Mardell, and Larissa (Chris) Crews and daughter Maisie Crews; his brothers, Al (Linda) Schreiner and family and Dale (Maureena) Schreiner and family; his sister, Joanne (Hugh) Gamble and family; his favorite Aunt Laura, whom he was very close to; and his mother-in-law, Marlene Hamilton.   Terry was predeceased by his parents, William and Elsie Schreiner.    Terry was born in Nipawin and was raised on the family farm in Pontrilas, SK.  He had a unique sense of humor and if you knew Terry you know what we mean by “unique”!  Terry always dropped everything to help someone out and did so whether it was convenient to him or not.  He thrived on working, even after his diagnosis one year ago and had not missed a day of work in some forty years.  He simply loved his job.  He enjoyed having a beer at the shop with Brent, Dave and the boys, and working alongside Jeannie.  When shop talk was done, he loved to go home to his wife Debbie, and watch the news, and then Blue Bloods.  He would tease Debbie by fast forwarding through the family suppers that ended each episode, but then rewind it as that was her favorite part.   Terry co-owned and operated Sportsman Bowl for many years.  Bowling was a passion of his and it took him to many tournaments, provincials and nationals.  Terry made many long-lasting friendships along the way.  When bowling was no longer an option, he found a new past time as a dedicated Raider season ticket holder up until his passing.  Every intermission he made sure to grab the same table so his hockey friends would know where to find him.   For the last few years Terry also spent time as a Director for the PA Exhibition Association, where he and Debbie would run “Big Bobz”, their food booth, for several years.  This proved to be another place where Terry made many lengthy friendships.  Vegas was a special place for Terry and Debbie.  They also went to Mexico twice, but their travels always led them back to Vegas.  Terry’s true happy place was at their lake lot at Sunnyside where a perfect day for him was being on the deck with a cold Canadian in one hand and a book in the other, surrounded by his grandkids, family and neighbors, everyone was always welcome.  Before his passing Terry was able to spend a couple of weekends at the lake – his happy place.  Terry had a very special bond with his granddaughter Abbigail.  They were inseparable, and Grandpa was her best friend.  He responded to her right up until the end and one of his last sentences was “Love you Abbs”.   Terry will also be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many family members.  He had many close friendships and several friends who visited or called throughout his journey and this truly meant so much to him.  A special thank you to Mitch who kept his spirits up with weekly visits.  Our family would like to thank the Palliative Home Care Staff for the care and compassion provided to Terry during the last week of his life.   In keeping with Terry’s wishes, no formal service will be held.   A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date.   In memory of Terry, please have a cold Canadian on your deck!  Feel free to share photos and stories with the family at debter@shaw.ca.   In lieu of other tributes, donations in memory of Terry may be made to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Ave, Regina, SK, S4W 0G3.  Family and friends wishing to send online condolences are welcome to visit www.beaulacfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Beau “Lac” Funeral Home, Tracy-Lynn Lenchuk, Funeral Director, Prince Albert, SK 306-763-3322.
