Delbert H. Sweebe

Delbert H. Sweebe, 87, of Carrollton died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Aultman Hospital. Born July 21, 1925 in Akron he was a son of the late George and Frances Carson Sweebe. Delbert was also preceded in death by his brothers, George and Robert Sweebe. Delbert retired from the Hoover Co. in North Canton as a Millwright after 30 years of faithful service. He proudly served his country during the Korean War with the US Army and was a member of the Carrollton Seventh Day Adventist Church. Delbert had an interest in the Native American culture and was an avid history buff. Delbert will be sadly missed by his wife of 62 years, Yvonne R. Gray Sweebe whom he married on October 8, 1950; children, Richard (Bonnie) Sweebe of Strongsville, David (Susan) Sweebe of Carrollton, Kathy (Thomas) Butler of Concord, North Carolina and Bart (Kim) Sweebe of Brookings, South Dakota; brother, Wayne (Bessie) Bissel of Dover; sister, Grace Ely of Ragersville; grandchildren, Zachary, George, Eric, Thomas, Angel, Alex, Nathaniel and Andrew and nine great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 19 at 11:00 am in the Foxfield Preserve at the Wilderness Center with Pastor Jim Tasker officiating. There will be no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
