Lanise "Nise" Portia Bell-Coleman Obituary

Lanise “Nise” Portia Bell and Larry Bell, twins born to Johnny Bell and Catherine Jenkins on March 17, 1967. Lanise loved helping people; and shared her home with many children that weren’t her own. A born again Christian with a heart of a gold. She loved sharing God’s word with others. She would often quote scriptures like that of Palms18:1-2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Lanise put God first in everything she did and may she rest peacefully as she lived by the scriptures of our lord she praised faithfully throughout her life. As Jesus said in Mathew 5:8-9 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Lanise grew up in Chicago and attended Chicago State University, where she met her husband Gene Coleman. Together moving to Florida in 2001, she attended the Cambridge Institute in Longwood Florida earning her license as an X-ray Technician. After 53 years of building a life she could be proud of, Lanise left this world on Jun 6, 2020. Sleep well our beloved sister, wife, mother, and friend. May you get your rest. We love you, but God loves you best. Happy, we are, to know you are walking with the father and the son. Your new life has just begun. Leaving Daughter Rachel Marie McRoy, sons Isaac Edward Coleman and Landon Patrick Coleman, step children Shareatha Raquelle Coleman and Singleton Robert Coleman and many foster children. Also survived by her sister Elizabeth Walker, brothers Frank Bell, Demetrius Bell, Larry Bell, and David Bell.
