Leroy Evans Jr. was one of five children born to the union of Leroy and Jennie Evans on April 12, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois. He went home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2020. Leroy was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up Leroy attended St. Mel Grammar School and Providence St. Mel High School. Growing up Leroy was one of the best basketball players in the city, and he was known for the amazing things that he could do with his left hand while playing basketball. Leroy also enjoyed skating, baseball and swimming. Leroy, was a man unlike any other. He was a wonderful son, father, husband and brother. A man with a very loving heart, who was loved by all who knew him. Leroy enjoyed spending time with his family and his grand kids. God gave Leroy the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and we know that he loved God in his heart. On February 1, 2007, Leroy married his wife Tina, and they spent 13 years together until the time of his passing. Leroy had a strong will to live and a love for life. Leroy will be truly missed, and will be in our hearts forever. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife Tina Evans; a son Leroy Butler, Kevin Scott, one daughter Trina Pittman; four Grandchildren-Jaden Butler, Leroy Butler Jr., Ladonte Pittman; and Ladamien Pittman; three brothers Aaron Evans (Shajuan), Otha Evans (Tara) and Kirk Evans (Syreeta); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives &; close friends.
