Herbert L. Underwood, Sr.

<p>Herbert Leon Underwood, Sr. was born January 7, 1943 to Jesse and Christine Underwood in Birmingham, Alabama. He departed this life on June 6, 2020 after a short illness.</p> <p>He accepted Christ at an early age and moved to Dayton, Ohio with his parents and became a member of St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alonzo Looney. He regularly attended with his family.</p> <p>He attended Dayton Public Schools and after obtaining his GED, he joined workforce at General Motors.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his wife Sadie Underwood, his parents, daughter Monica Underwood; brothers: Jesse, Luther, Tim and William &ldquo;Mookie.&rdquo;</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted son Herbert, Jr. (Shawn); his ever loving sister Davora Jenkins; grandchildren Jessica Underwood (Keith Sean) and Antuan (Brandy) Passmore; great-grandchildren Ava, Lia, Ashton; brothers: James (Joyce) Cameron of Trotwood, Ohio and Roy Farley of Chicago, Illinois; Uncle Joe Underwood of Dayton, Ohio and great Aunt Rosa Hughes of Birmingham, AL along with a&nbsp; host of other relatives and friends.</p>
