Christopher David Beaty Obituary

Christopher “Chris” David Beaty Sr. passed away on June 6, 2020 after a hard fought battle with COVID. Chris was born on September 3, 1956 in Philadelphia, PA, to Anna Rose (Hummel) and Faver C. “Bob” Beaty.

As a child, Chris had to overcome physical challenges. Nothing stopped Chris from doing all the things that any child would do. He had a fight in him that was super-hero like and that fight would later carry on helping him accomplish his many life goals.

Chris was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and married his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Heydeman). Chris was married soon after high school. Chris and Barbara went on to have four children, Nichole, Chris Jr., Bernadette, and Samantha. Chris was a devoted father and always put his family before himself. Chris was a skilled Plumber for most of his life and built a successful small business servicing the Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia Counties.

Chris is survived by his wife Barbara, four children Nichole, Chris Jr., Bernadette, and Samantha, his brother Robert “Bob” Beaty, his sisters Marianne Thomas and Cindy Dienes, and ten grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In 1993, God presented Chris with a physical challenge that took all the fight he had to survive. For 27 years, this physical challenge never held Chris back. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and truly bled green. Chris spent many a day challenging family members to a game of chess. He often let us win. Chris was passionate about keeping his family close and connected. Chris was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle to many. Despite all of the challenges that Chris had to manage through his life, he never stopped smiling. No one who met Chris could forget his infectious smile and passion to make people laugh. We all will miss Chris but we know he is sitting with a smile on his face, beer in hand, waiting for us to join his party.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the World Health Organization’s COVID19 Response Fund: https://covid19responsefund.org/en/

Services and interment are private due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
