Edward Wesley Walton, Jr. Memphis, Tennessee Obituary

Edward Wesley Walton, Jr.

Rev. Edward W. Walton Jr., ( age 80) died on June 6th, 2020 after a long illness. He served several United Methodist churches in Georgia and Tennessee after graduating from Emory University. He was a man of many interests. He enjoyed photography and the outdoors, especially if it included camping, and was a man that truly enjoyed traveling and lived life to the fullest. He took great delight in pulling pranks and jokes on people, including writing his own obituary attached with a cartoon that stated “A sweet, wonderful man died yesterday, and no one knows how the world can survive without him”. Many stories have been told over the years of his many pranks and escapades. He leaves behind his wife Marilyn of 55 years, his daughter Cathy Dent of Henderson, TN, his son Philip Walton of Memphis, TN and his two grandsons, Hunter and Christopher Walton, of Franklin, TN. Ed also leaves behind his sister Carole Wenzler of Olive Branch, MS, several nieces and nephews and his beloved German Shepard Brynna and Curtis. Rather than a burial, his wish was to be cremated and have his ashes spread at several locations that meant so much to him, including a family cemetery in Mississippi, and the river in Arkansas where he loved to camp and trout fish. A private family service will be held on July 11th, 2020. His final wish was that any memorials be sent to the Bubba Stevenson Foundation at 2335 Pennington Bend Rd, Nashville, TN 37214.
