Rita Faye Salyers Marshall McGuffin Kirk, 63, of Rush went to be with her Lord Tuesday June 2, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Rita was born December 26, 1956 in Ashland, KY a daughter of the late Paul Edward “Pod” and Betty May Hutchison Salyers. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Wayne Marshall and a granddaughter, Julia Faith Marshall.
Rita was an active member of Kilgore United Methodist Church. Rita worked as a LPN at Kingsbrook and Carter Nursing and Rehab. Rita’s love was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband, James “Tex” Kirk; two sons, Eric Wayne (Missi) Marshall of Rush and Freddy Joe (Marci) McGuffin of Greenup; a daughter, Rita Renae Kirk of Rush; seven grandchildren, Tyler Meeks, Zach (Brittney) McGuffin, Alex Marshall, Sarah Mae McGuffin, Callie Ramsey, Bella Ramsey and Chase McGuffin; three great-grandchildren, Kane McGuffin, Karson McGuffin and Kolby McGuffin; two brothers, Paul Edward “Butch” (Mary) Salyers, Jr. and Charles Vinson (Darlene) Salyers, Sr.; a sister, Vicky Annabelle (Danny) Rucker all of Rush; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday June 6, 2020 at the Kilgore United Methodist Church in Rush with Pastor Guy Moyer and Jack Dinkens officiating. Burial will follow in the Hutchison Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 am Saturday until the service hour all at the church.
