BETTY JANE GASS DAVIS

 

Betty Jane Gass Davis, age 85 years old, was called to her heavenly home by the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2020.   She was born on February 12, 1935 to her parents, John and Odell Gass.  Betty was a lifetime resident of Bridgeport, AL.  She had been employed as a hair stylist until her retirement.  Betty was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member to the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, AL. 

 

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.    Betty loved her Lord and Savior and spent time daily studying her Bible and sharing her faith with family and friends.   During her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, baking, candy making along with collecting angels to display in her lovely home.

 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, John and Odell Gass; son-in-law, Neil Webb; grandson, Christian Neil Webb; and sister, Mary Don Stahl.

 

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, David (Patti) Davis; daughter, Pam Webb; grandsons, Brian (Amy) Davis and Austin Webb; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Lily McLeod; sister, Anna Ruth (Charles “Buddy”) Mason; special friend, Leon Phillips along with other cherished friends.

 

The family will have a private visitation on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

 

There will be a graveside service to follow at 1:00 pm CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN with Pastor Houston Thomas officiating.

 

Pallbearers are Austin Webb, Brian Davis, Charles "Buddy" Mason, David Phillips, Brent Phillips and Michael Mason.

 

In lieu of flowers, Ms. Barbara had requested donations to be made to the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, AL or to the Gideon Bible Ministry in her memory.
