Honorable Judge Edith Jacqueline Ingram Obituary

Hancock County mourns the loss of a warm, loving and caring citizen Honorable Edith Ingram.  Her outstanding contributions to the Sparta, Hancock County Community and the State of Georgia were insurmountable and selflessly given.  Her life as a teacher, advocate for many causes, justice and freedom for all, the first Female African American Probate Judge in Hancock County Georgia and the United States of America will be a reminder of our dedication to each other.

The family will have a private burial service to honor the life of Honorable Edith J. Ingram of Sparta, GA.

She leaves to cherish her legacy, two brothers: Jerold O. Ingram (Jeanette) and Robert L. Ingram (Mary); aunts, Gladys Smith, Charity Hunt, and Marian Hunt; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the Hancock County Courthouse between the hour of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.

In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Hancock-Warren County area Fort Valley State University Alumni Association Funds will be designated to go towards the scholarship name in her honor.
