Maria Adela Godoy Sandoval, “Mamá Adela”, departed peacefully in the arms of the lord at home on June 3, 2020 at the age of 92. Mamá Adela was born on August 10, 1927 in Jalapa San Pedro Pinula, Guatemala.

She worked as an elementary school teacher for the nearby town, then went on to become the primary care taker for her children and later on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mamá Adela lived her life in service of her family, and her love extended to her friends and community. She served her church Ministerios de Vida Internacional focusing on strengthening her relationship with God and sharing the gospel. You could always count on a prayer from her over your well-being even if she only met you once.

Some of the greatest memories made with Mamá Adela took place at any family gathering. She loved nothing more than to watch her family live in the moment and rejoiced in connecting with the holy spirit.

Mamá Adela is survived by her children Elda M. Ramirez, Blanca E. Godoy, and Sandra E. Sagastume, her son in laws, Chaly Ramirez and Isaias Garcia Cornejo. Her 13 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren all from Massachusetts, Delaware, Canada, and Guatemala. She is predeceased by her daughter Amabilia Sagastume, her siblings, and her parents Florencia Sandoval and Agustin Godoy.

Her relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and burial on Monday June 8, 2020. The viewing will be from 10am-12pm at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home located on 326 Granite Avenue Milton, MA 02186 and the burial will follow at 1pm at St. Michael Cemetery located on 500 Canterbury Street, Boston, MA 02131. Facemasks are required to partake in the services and only 20 people at a time for the viewing and 10 people at a time for the burial. We ask that everyone bring their own pens to sign the guest book.

On behalf of Mamá Adela a final message, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”- Philippians 4:13.

María Adela Godoy Sandoval, “Mamá Adela”, partió a los brazos del señor en su hogar el 3 de Junio del 2020 a la edad de 92 años. Mamá Adela nació el 10 de Agosto del 1927 en Jalapa San Pedro Pinula, Guatemala. 
 
Trabajó como Maestra de escuela primaria para el pueblo cercano, luego se retiró para convertirse en la encargada de la atención primaria de sus hijos y luego sus nietos y bisnietos. 
 
Todo lo que hizo Mamá Adela fue al servicio de su familia, y ese amor se extendió más allá sus amistades y comunidad. Sirvió para su iglesia, Ministerios de Vida Internacional y siempre oro por el bienestar de sus seres queridos y amistades, incluso si solo te conoció una vez. 
 
Algunos de los mejores recuerdos hechos con Mamá Adela tuvieron lugar en cualquier reunión familiar. Amaba ver a su familia compartiendo eventos familiares. Ella trabajó duro para fortalecer su relación con Dios y compartir el Evangelio. 
 
Mamá Adela deja a sus hijas Elda M. Ramírez, Blanca E. Godoy y Sandra E. Sagastume, sus yernos Chaly Ramírez y Isaias García Cornejo.  Sus 13 nietos y 23 bisnietos, de Massachusetts, Delaware, Canadá y Guatemala. Muere después de su hija, Amabilia Sagastume, sus hermanos y hermanas, sus padres, Florencia Sandoval y Agustín Godoy. 
 
Sus familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir a su vela y entierro el Lunes 8 de Junio del 2020. La vela será de 10:00 am a 12:00 pm en la funeraria, Alfred D. Thomas, ubicada en el 326 Granite Ave. Milton, MA 02186 y el entierro seguirá a la 1:00 pm en el cementerio de St. Michael Cemetery, ubicado en el 500 Canterbury Street, Boston, MA 02131. Se requieren mascarías faciales para participar en los servicios y 20 personas a la vez en el velorio y 10 personas a la vez para el entierro. Por favor traer su lapicero para firmar el libro de recuerdos.
