Dr. Vicki Lynn Page

Dr. Vicki Lynn Page, age 64 of Dyersburg, Tennessee (formerly of Kenton) passed away from this world into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday June 2, 2020, at her home with her loving family around her. Cremation services with a private Memorial for Dr. Page will be conducted at a later date by her family. Vicki was born January 20, 1956 in Millington, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Wilbern Lee “Bodie” and Sadie Dunn Page, she survives. Dr. Page received her Bachelor of Science of Sociology from the University of Tennessee at Martin, her Masters of Sociology from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, and her Doctorate of Sociology from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Page was a professor of Sociology at Briarcliff University in Sioux City Iowa, for three years, then she was professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and the University of Texas at Dallas. After moving back to Tennessee she was a professor at the University of Tennessee at Martin and at Union University of Jackson, Tennessee. Dr. Page was a published Sociologist and chosen to study American Culture in Egypt. She loved her family and will be greatly missed. Vicki leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Hannah Haynie; four grandchildren, Maddison, Logan, Andrew, and Devyn; her mother, Sadie Dunn Page; her friend and caregiver, Roger Petersen, all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one sister, Tina Elgin and husband Ricky of Mason Hall, Tennessee; and one brother, Jason Page of Pikeville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbern Lee “Bodie” Page. The family ask in lieu of flowers, to honor her memory with memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Yorkville Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Yorkville, Tennessee. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dr. Vicki Lynn Page.
