Dwight Hayden Malone Obituary

Dwight Hayden Malone, 86, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Tuesday. Dwight grew up in Memphis, TN and graduated from University of Memphis. He served in the United States Army in Germany and retired from the US Defense Department. Dwight attended Weatherly Baptist Church in Huntsville and loved being a member of the choir there for over 45 years. He and his wife, Patricia, retired early and traveled all over the US and Europe and attended all Alabama football games until recently. Dwight is survived by his wife, Patricia Bryant Malone; children, Donald Bryant Malone, Carol Malone Willis, and Mark Malone; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Dwight was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Opal Malone, father, Dwight Malone Sr., daughter, Becky Nevels, brother, Phillip Malone, and grandson, Brent Nevels. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 5 at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church. The funeral will follow at the church with Dr. David Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Dwight requested memorials be made to Weatherly Heights Baptist Church, 1306 Cannstatt Dr., Huntsville, AL 35803.
