Beverly Liebrandt Obituary

Beverly Sue Liebrandt, age 84, passed away on June 1, 2020. She was born on February 12, 1936, in Nokomis, IL to parents Otis Jones and Vivian Pullen Jones LaPorte. Raised in Chicago, she met her husband Wilford Liebrandt while they both attended Moody Bible Institute. Beverly was a woman of many talents and interests. She was a talented artist and illustrator, although few saw her artwork. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing all her life. She enjoyed sports and played church softball and in Battle Creek’s city softball league into her seventies. She was a fierce competitor whether it was in family volleyball matches or in nursing home tabletop games. She sewed clothing and took on requests from friends for many years. She enjoyed cooking and her dinner table was always filled to overflowing with home-cooked food and desserts, especially pies. She enjoyed working in her yard, tending her flower beds until age and dementia caught up to her. Beverly was also a long-time member of Battle Creek Bible Church and later Southside Bible Church. Beverly was a home-maker until her older children were in high school and she returned to work. She retired from the downtown Battle Creek branch of Michigan National Bank, and then went to work for State Farm Insurance in Marshall and also retired from that company. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Wilford (1922-2006), a younger brother Allen LaPorte (1944-1974), and sister Patricia Jones Pickell.  She is survived by brothers Darrell Jones (Barbara), Ralph LaPorte (Jan), Steve Jones, and Tom Arens (Christina), and sisters Sheryl Jones Krauhs and Gloria Jones Marquardt; children Geoff (Diane), Jon (Cathy), Jackie Hicks (Dan), Jill Dremann (Chris), and Jay; grandchildren Jayme, Danae, Jenessa, Joy, Beth, Jared, Derek, Jacob, Christi, and Brianna; and two great grandchildren Andi and Evander. www.henryfuneralhome.org
