Thomas Aquila Chase, 81, of Leesburg, Virginia, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 after a battle with cancer. Tom was the only child of Charles Thomas Chase, Jr. and Dorothea Morris Chase formerly of Radnor, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate from Haverford School in Haverford, PA and then went on to earn multiple degrees at Northern Virginia Community College (AAS), University of Pennsylvania (MA), University of Virginia (BA), and an MBA at Xavier University. Before that Tom worked across a spectrum of jobs which included different roles in computers/tech, customer service, healthcare, and teaching. He was a technical analyst for Boeing Computer Services, Concierge for ARAMARK, PC Support Analyst for CSC/DynCorp Information Systems, Project Manager for the Franklin Institute, Project Director for the Fairmont Clinic, and was an instructor at Northern Virginia Community College. One unique skill Tom had was that he was fluent in German and received his certificate from the Goethe-Institut. He loved to embarrass his children by speaking German in public. He had a passion to learn and loved history, specifically the many battles of the Civil War. Tom is survived by his two children Thomas Aquila Chase II and Elizabeth of Morgantown, WV and Patricia Ann Chase of Leesburg, Virginia. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Emma, Norah, and Ashling. A Memorial service is pending due to COVID-19 and an announcement will be made at a later date.
