Carmella Arpaio died Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Hampton Ridge Care Center in Toms River, NJ. She was 103. Carmella was born in Newark, NJ on July 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Mary (Catina) and Antonio Savoca, living in Whiting, NJ for 35 years before moving to Toms River. She was a Communicant of St. James in Newark for many years. Her smile & zest for life will be missed by all the many lives she touched. Carmella was a devoted wife, mom, grandma and greatgrandma to her children. She was pre-deceased by her husband Jerry Arpaio in 1997. and 6 brothers and sisters. Carmella is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" and her husband Salvatore Melillo and Mary and her husband Virgil DeOliveira, and a son Frank Arpaio and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ronald & Eldie, Frank & Tammy , Lora, Craig and Lucia, Virgil & Marrilee, Elaine, Jeffrey & Dana, and her great grandchildren,Tiffany, Nicole, Brittany, Cree, Danielle, Rachel, Emma, Randy and Alton. Services were private and under the direction of the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Gillette, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
