George Daniel Mayfield, 91, passed away on Sunday May 31, 2020. He was born in New Albany, IN and lived his life in Lanesville, IN with his beloved wife of 69 years, Evelyn Jean (Small) Mayfield.

A Korean War veteran, George served in the US Army honorably from 1951-1953. George was a patriot first, a jokester second, and a family man always. There’s nothing he loved more in this world than his land on Mayfield Mountain, where he raised his children and two of his grandchildren, his country, and his old ’87 Chevrolet. George lived a full life thanks to the love and attention from his family, including all of his nieces and nephews whom he adored dearly.

George is Survived by his sons- Roger Mayfield, Ricky Mayfield, and Michael Mayfield; daughter- Sandra Sloan; grandchildren- Melissa Mayfield-White, Michelle Miller, Andrew Mayfield, Stacy Mayfield, Leanna Mayfield, Jessica Baird, Mary Mehl, Lyle Sloan ; 13 Great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild.

George is preceded in death by his Parents- Roscoe and Irene Mayfield, his siblings- Lucy Stewart, Doris Taylor, Martha “Loraine” Richert, Roscoe Mayfield Jr., Lawrence Mayfield., Bill Mayfield, Pauline Chaffin, and Janet Mayfield.

Visitation will be held at Naville Seabrook Funeral Home Oak Street Chapel on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 12:00pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service Will be at the Antioch church on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 11:00.
