Wilfred “Willie” E. G. Saeger, 81, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Madison. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia with Rev. Joel Free officiating.   Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial with military honors will follow at the parish cemetery.  Memorials would be appreciated to the church or the charity of ones choice.  Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.  Wilfred Edward George Saeger was born on September 27, 1938 to Marvin and Elsa (nee Bankert) Saeger at the family home in Pipersville.  He married Lucille Budig on September 19, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown.  Willie worked at Lindberg Hevi-Duty in Watertown from 1972 until his retirement as a Shear Operator.  During his retirement he maintained baseball fields in the Ixonia area.   Willie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, and bowling. He like attending and coaching his children and grandchildren’s games.  He was confirmed and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ixonia.  Willie was a member of American Legion Post #189 in Watertown.  Willie is survived by his wife Lucille Saeger of Watertown; one son Todd (Mary) Saeger of Watertown; one daughter Tammy (Ted) Mootz of Portage; five grandchildren:  Nicky Saeger, Nathan (Amanda) Saeger, Lukas (Cassie Morris) Saeger, Jessica (Jason) Setzke, Benjamin Mootz; three great-grandchildren, Brielle Saeger, Tucker Saeger, and Aspen Saeger;  siblings:  Melvin Saeger of Juneau, Carolann Saeger of Oconomowoc, Robert (Winifred) Saeger of Sullivan, Charles (Sandy) Saeger of Oconomowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Mary Saeger, a nephew Kevin Saeger, and a great-nephew Kenan Saeger.
