Karen Ann Davied, 56, of Walnut, died at 4:44 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Mercy Hospital in Joplin. Karen was born December 20, 1963 in Girard, a daughter of Gerald and Mary (Hermann) Davied. She attended schools in Greenbush, Girard, Arma and Columbus, where she graduated. She then attended the Learning Center in Parsons. Karen worked at Max’s and the bed and breakfast, both in St. Paul, McDonald’s and Save A Lot, both in Parsons. She later moved to her own house at rural Walnut and she was a volunteer at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul. Karen enjoyed watching television, visiting with friends, and working jig saw puzzles. Every year she looked forward to attending Holy Family Camp. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church at Greenbush before it was destroyed by fire and she was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard. Survivors are her parents of Walnut; her siblings, Marietta Graham, and her husband, Rodger, of Whitewater, Kansas, Mike Davied, and his wife, Becky, of Frontenac, Tom (T.J.) Davied of Carthage, Illinois, Dr Allen Davied, and his wife, Dr. Mala, of Overland Park, Kansas, Roy Davied of Lincoln, Kansas, Duane Davied of Olathe, Kansas, Dale Davied, and his wife, Angela, of Leawood, Kansas; a special staff member she considered her 2nd mother Patti Martin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Monday, June 1, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Girard with Fr. Floyd McKinney as Celebrant. Burial will be in Greenbush Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Monday, before the Mass, at St. Michael. Friends may call at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Michael Catholic Church and these may be left at the church or the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
